STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau Broustet

Barsac-Sauternes

2ème Cru Classé Sauternes

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château Broustet has belonged to Didier Laulan since 1994. He is also the owner of Château Saint-Marc, which has been in his family for 4 generations. A classified growth, Broustet is located 40 km south of Bordeaux in the commune of Barsac, in the heart of the Sauternes region.

The twenty hectares of vines grow on gravelly soil and the subsoil has red clay, iron oxide and asteriated limestone. There are three grape varieties: 70% Sémillon, 25% Sauvignon Blanc, and 5% Muscadelle.

In the Bottle

A typical Barsac, Broustet is an aromatic wine with a great deal of finesse. It is ideal with tropical fruit, pears, and desserts made with honey.
