Created in 1989, Château Cap de Faugères is in the Côtes-de-Castillon appellation.

The vineyard is in the commune of Saint-Colombe, bordering on Saint-Emilion. Cap de Faugères belongs to Silvio Denz, a Swiss entrepreneur who made a fortune in the perfume industry.

The 31-hectare vineyard is located on a slope with clay-limestone soil. The average age of the vines is 30 years. Grape varieties consist of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc, and 5% Cabernet Sauvignon.

In the Bottle

Cap de Faugères has an average annual production of 100,000 bottles. The wine features a bouquet of very ripe fruit with spicy overtones, as well as oaky aromas when young. It is rich on the palate with a long aftertaste.
