STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau d'Arche Haut-Médoc

Haut-Médoc

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château Arche is located in the heart of a 36 hectare vineyard on slopes overlooking the town of Sauternes.

As with other estates in the Sauternes-Barsac appellation, Château Arche benefits from a special microclimate conducive to the development of noble rot - indispensable for great, sweet wines.

An average age of 45 years old, the vines grow on a gravel, clay, and fine silt soil with a density of 6,600 vines/hectare.

In the Bottle

Rich and concentrated, Château d'Arche is a rather powerful wine.

Generally good in quality, certain recent vintages (2003, 2005 and 2006 d'Arche) are simply excellent.
