STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau du Glana

Saint-Julien

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Dating from the late 19th century, Château du Glana was bought by the Meffre family in 1961, who expanded the estate by purchasing surrounding plots, mainly from the neighboring Château Lagrange.

The 43 hectare vineyard benefits from well-drained Garonne gravel soil. Recognized a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in the 1978 classification, this estate produces structured wines which are very flavorsome in good years.

In the Bottle

Château du Glana's best wines such as 2002, 2005 and 2006 du Glana are good to excellent values within the Cru Bourgeois category.
