STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau Fieuzal

Pessac-Léognan

Cru Classé de Graves

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Once owned by the La Rochefoucauld family, Fieuzal developed into a full-fledged winegrowing estate after the Napoleonic Empire. The château has changed hands a number of times since the early 20th century. In 1994 and 1995, the Banque Populaire bought both Château de Fieuzal and Château Haut-Gardère, thus re-forming the original vineyard. Lochlann Quinn has been the new owner since August 2001.

The vineyard is located on sandy-gravel soil.

Château Fieuzal is generous and deep with fine tannin.

In addition to its red wine, the estate has also produced an excellent dry white highly appreciated by connoisseurs since the 1980s.

In the Bottle

Fieuzal largely owes its fine reputation to its excellent white wine. Château Fieuzal's best recent vintages are 2006, 2005, 2002, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1996, and 1994.

With regard to the red wine, Château Fieuzal produces deep and concentrated type of wines.
