STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau Fleur Cardinale

Saint-Emilion Grand Cru

Grand Cru

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château Fleur Cardinale is in a prime location in the north-eastern part of the Saint-Emilion plateau.

The soil consists of clay-limestone on limestone bedrock.

The Fleur Cardinale team pays careful attention to the smallest details in both the vineyard and cellar, giving this beautiful 20 hectare estate a "well-manicured" look.

Recent vintages are round, fruity, and expressive. Previous vintages - made by Stéphane Asséo before the estate was taken over by the Decoster family in 2001 - are more classic, with a slightly more rustic side, but nevertheless fine and well-balanced.

In the Bottle

Since Dominique and Florence Decoster bought Château Fleur Cardinale in 2001, this dynamic couple have done their utmost to produce quality wines, helped by an expert winegrowing team and famous consultants.

Not surprisingly, the 2005 and 2006 Fleur Cardinale vintage are excellent, but previous years are also worthwhile.

Château Fleur Cardinale's wines are beautifully round, elegant, and subtle - a true delight for wine lovers. Fleur Cardinale definitely has a bright future ahead of it. Good value for money.
