STUDIES ON BORDEAUX WINES AND GROWTHS

Chateau Fonbadet

Pauillac

Cru Bourgeois Supérieur

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château Fonbadet is a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur.

The vineyard is divided into three distinct plots, directly bordering on some extremely prestigious estates: Latour, Pichon-Longueville, and Lynch-Bages.

The vines grow on deep, gravelly rises with an iron pan subsoil.

One of the estate's main characteristics is a very high proportion of old vines - over 60 years on average - producing grapes with very concentrated juice.

The château dates back to the 18th century and is surrounded by beautiful shade trees. Owned by the Peyronie family, whose winemaking experience spans four centuries, Château Fonbadet makes fine, classic, deep, expressive wines.

In the Bottle

Made with enthusiasm and the greatest of care, Fonbadet is a family-owned Cru Bourgeois Supérieur for lovers of classic Pauillac, but requires time to round out.
