A vineyard surrounded by an elegant mid 19th century château, Fonréaud has belonged to the Chanfreau family since the early 1960s.
Little by little, the Chanfreaus have modernized the estate.
Located at the highest point in the Médoc, the south-facing vines grow on gravelly soil with a limestone subsoil.
In good years, Château Fonréaud is aromatic and well-structured, with good aging potential. Fonréaud also produces a pleasant dry white wine, Le Cygne, made from Sauvignon Blanc, Sémillon, and Muscadelle (approximately 10,000 bottles).
Classified a Cru Bourgeois Supérieur in 1932, Château Fonréaud enjoys a good reputation among wine lovers.
In previous years, Fonréaud produced a number of beautiful wines such as their 1982, 1985, and 1986.
Fonréaud, Les Tourelles du Château Fonréaud (second vin), Le Cygne de Château Fonréaud (dry white)
