Château Gazin once belonged to the Maltese Knights, which explains the Maltese Cross on the bottle and the engraving of the same symbol above the cellar entrance.
The de Bailliencourt dit Courcol family has owned the estate for several generations.
Located on the Pomerol plateau, the 24 hectare vineyard in a single block is composed of clay-gravel and sand soil.
Focusing on finesse, Château Gazin is very representative of the Pomerol appellation. The better vintages have a deep structure, giving this wine a good twenty year aging potential.
Until the early 90s, Château Gazin suffered from a reputation for inconsistency. However, this is no longer the case, and Gazin now produces fine wine on a regular basis, as well as magnificent vintages.
Pomerol wine lovers appreciate its very good Quality/Price ratio.

Dark ruby-red color.
Surprisingly forward bouquet.
Elegant, spicy nose with hints of ripe raspberry and toasty oak.
Very well-structured with medium body and concentration. Gains power after the initial impression with a delicious, sweet core of fruit and tight-knit tannin. Voluptuous and sexy with a smooth, velvety aftertaste.
Ready to drink, but can keep for at least another 5 - 10 years.
