Chateau Hosanna

Pomerol

Non classif.

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château Hosanna is located in Pomerol. The estate is surrounded by prestigious estates: Château Lafleur to the south, Petrus to the west, and Vieux Château Certan to the north.

Prior to the French Revolution, Hosanna belonged to the May family, and the vineyard was part of Vieux Château Certan. In 1999, Hosanna was acquired by the firm of Jean-Pierre Moueix. The previous owners, the Giraud family, requested that the former name of Certan-Giraud be abandoned. Therefore part of the original vineyard (4.5 hectares) was rebaptized Château Hosanna and the rest (2 hectares), is now called Château Certan Marzelle.

Château Hosanna thus has 4.5 hectares of vines: 80% Merlot (70%) and 30% Cabernet Franc.

In the Bottle

Annual production is only 18,000 bottles a year.
