Non classif.

last update : Sunday 27 November 2011

Château la Cabanne is a small estate in the heart of the Pomerol appellation, on the western slope of the upper plateau.

Wine has been made here since Gallo-Roman times. The estate currently belongs to Michèle and François Estager.

The 10-hectare vineyard is ideally situated on the Pomerol plateau. The soil is predominantly clay and gravel, and the subsoil consists of mâchefer, a streak of sand and iron oxide. The estate features a typical blend of grape varieties for Pomerol: 92% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc. The average age of the vines is 28 years.

In the Bottle

La Cabanne has an enticing, delicate bouquet. It is well-structured and powerful on the palate, with plenty of body and nuances of candied fruit. La Cabanne has beautiful aging potential.
