last update : Sunday 08 January 2012

Château Rabaud-Promis is located in the commune of Bommes in the Sauternes appellation. Rabaud-Promis was rated a first growth in the 1855 classification.

It now belongs to the Dejean family.

The terroir is gravelly with a high clay content. Château Rabaud-Promis has 33 hectares of vines composed of traditional grape varieties for the appellation: 80% Sémillon, 18% Sauvignon Blanc, and a little Muscadelle. The average age of the vines is 35-40 years.

In the Bottle

Château Rabaud-Promis is a rich, sweet, and opulent wine. In certain years, when certain vats are considered unworthy to be sold under the name of the grand vin, a second wine, Domaine de L'Estramade, is produced.
