Created in the mid 17th century by Romain de Filhot, the estate passed into the de Lur Saluces family through marriage. They sold the wine, which also included the Domaine de Pineau, under the name "Château Sauternes". Filhot stayed in the family for generations, until the 300 hectare estate (20% planted with vines) came into the hands of current owners, the Count de Vaucelles family. [...]
