Medoc

Situation and soil

Medoc is a vast district stretching approximately from the Gironde estuary to the city of Bordeaux. The Northernmost segment of the Medoc area carries the same name as the Medoc peninsula itself and represents almost one third of its total surface. The Medoc vineyard's surface covers a vast area of 5,700ha with some 1,500 wineries called "Château".

Characteristics

Medoc's nature of soils bode perfectly with the Cabernet-Sauvignon variety. Cabernet type of grapes add to the wine’s virtues: alcoholic structure, color, body and robustness, which does not prevent them from showing finesse and bouquet. Medoc is an amazing source of inexpensive, good quality Bordeaux.
