Moulis

Situation and soil

Moulis region has quite a rich history and is considered as the heart of the Medoc area. The Moulis vineyard really had its reputation spreading after the French Revolution (1789) but historically, the Moulis district has vines cultivated on its ground for over 700 years, which makes it one of the oldest wine growing region in the Médoc. Moulis was decreed AOC in 1938. The Moulis area has a total planted surface of approx. 600ha.

Characteristics

The wines’ style is often regarded as a kind of synthesis of the Left Bank. Produced on clay-limestones and gravel soils, the Moulis wines combine wit with relatively strong and generous bodies.
